Review of "Homestead" the Movie by Heartway Farms

This Christmas, Heartway Farms embarked on a new experience by heading to the cinema for our very first Christmas Day movie as a family. It's not something we've done before, maybe it's due to our kids' ages or just how our holiday schedule has worked out in the past, but this year, we decided to hitch up the proverbial horses and jump into our 12-passenger van to experience "Homestead" by Angel Studios.

"Homestead" was an engaging movie, set in an apocalyptic vision of America where everything has fallen apart. The story resonated with us as it dealt with themes of resilience, community, and the strength of human connections amidst chaos. It was a stark reminder of why we teach our children that experiences, especially those shared together, are what truly matter in life "it's not about the stuff" while following the Lord.

The movie portrayed a world where preparation for tough times isn't just smart, it's essential. It highlighted how, in the darkest moments, people come together, creating bonds that are both necessary and beautiful. This theme was especially relevant for us, reinforcing our family's values of family, community, and hope while developing a preparedness mindset.

Visually, "Homestead" was gripping - the portrayal of a dystopian landscape in the Rockies was both haunting and inspiring. The characters were well-developed and diverse, their journeys touching on our own beliefs about the importance of hope and love in even the bleakest circumstances.

We couldn't help but feel that the movie was setting the stage for more stories to come (which was then reinforced and confirmed at the end of the movie), which left us both excited and slightly unsatisfied, as some threads seemed left hanging for future exploration.

From our family's perspective, "Homestead" was more than a movie; it was an experience that echoed our Christmas message of valuing each other and the moments we share. It was a fitting while experiencing this as a homesteading family ( https://m.youtube.com/c/heartwayfarms ), leaving us with much to discuss and reflect on as we returned to our farm.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

- For reference, our family of 8 ranges from adults to 10 years of age. There were some intense elements and each family must use discretion as to what is best for their tribe. We also recommend utilizing Plugged In online for movie and content reviews.

If you're looking for a film that not only entertains but also resonates with the heart of what it means to be a family, community, and inspire hope, especially in trying times, "Homestead" comes highly recommended from all of us at Heartway Farms.

Thanks to Angel Studios for creating relevant yet "clean" entertainment for the family!

Heartway Farms

On behalf of the Heartway Farms family we would like to say…WELCOME!

We are so glad you found us and we are delighted to share our family, our lives, and our farm with all of you! We are a family owned farm and homestead in Plano, Illinois and all eight of us work together to keep this dream of ours running strong. Team work makes the dream work, right! We want to provide healthy, farm fresh food and products for our own family but also share with the community around us. We are so grateful for the opportunity to do what we do and share it with all of you.

GROW Family -

In our household God comes first but family is a VERY close second. Time together as a family has always been a priority for us and when we chose the homesteading life we knew that this journey would require all-hands-on-deck. We have the opportunity to work side-by-side every day. We sweat, shiver, laugh, cry, get frustrated, celebrate…all together!

BUILD Community -

We believe that we are here for a reason. We are where we are doing what we do for a reason. We are called to be light wherever we go and we want to be that light in our community. Whatever we do for our family we also want to share that with our community. Beyond that, we also want to build one another up and encourage others always and in all that we do. Let’s work together to shine a light in the darkness!

INSPIRE Hope-

Sometimes we lose sight of hope. We get distracted by life and the challenges that come along with it. When hope feels lost we have a choice to make. We can choose to live in that

hopelessness or we can choose to walk in truth, faith, to walk in love, and to find that hope once again! Today, I believe that you will find hope! Seek it out and you will find it!

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
