Our Story

Josh and I, and our six kids, would like to welcome you to Heartway Farms. Life for us is full of giggles, skinned knees, work, and schooling but we decided life wasn't busy enough so we bought a farm! Yep, we jump in head first from time to time...and we like it that way. We simply want to grow and raise healthy food for our family and we hope to share these blessings with your family as well. As we take on new adventures please join us for the journey!

Our Philosophy…

I love how Joel Salatin put it. He said, “The shorter the chain between raw food and fork, the fresher it is and the more transparent the system is.” When you walk into a grocery store you honestly have no idea how long that “fresh” food has been sitting there. You see words like Ultra Pasteurized on the organic milk sitting in the cooler section and Cage-Free on your perfectly uniformed brown eggs. You see pictures of expansive fields and green pastures on the labeling of all your favorite organic brands. It all sounds and looks perfectly delightful when in reality these things are merely a marketing circus act and when you begin to dig in and research some of these companies you get to see the “truth” behind the marketing. Accountability is a lost attribute in our current society and this is one of the biggest reasons why local FARM TO TABLE is so important. We want to know where our food comes from, how the animals are treated, and know that the nutritional benefits of that food are still present. That's it!
